I was a good teacher and I knew that I was making a difference in the lives of my students.  I was also expanding my horizons and becoming better in my teaching, but the price I was paying was heavy:  I was giving my best time to someone else’s children.

At my first LifePath Unlimited Synergy training Event, I wrote this statement in my notes.  “If you can understand and honor the simplicity of this business, your enterprise will explode.”  Another note from that same Synergy event:  “My business begins with me and my consistent action.” As you create your DMO, your Daily Method of Operation, organize your day to include time for YOU, your Body (exercise), your Mind (first complete the Discovery course and then explore other personal development resources), and your Spirit (meditation).

Then put the big rocks in the bucket first (the first time I saw the demonstration of filling the bukcet with the big rocks, then the smaller rocks, then the pebbles, then the sand and fitting ALL of them in was in a class with Steven R. Covey, who was a professor at the University where I received my degree). So what are the “big rocks”?  That’s right!  The four steps of the LPU system.

If you consistently take ACTION on your plan to implement the 4-step system daily, you are putting the big rocks in first, you’re treating this like a business.  You are also allowing yourself to fit in other important family and personal time knowing that you did what you said you’d do when you came here. Habit #5    Develop leadership

Leaders know that the private victory comes before public victory.  As you grow into your leadership here at LifePath Unlimited, this credo based on the words of Steven Covey is applicable:

I am a person who honors my commitments.  I am pro-active.  I delay gratification in favor of developing emotional intelligence.  I am self-disciplined and I think, plan and live long range.

The most recent LifePath Unlimited Destiny event took place last week in the ancient city of Cuzco, Peru – the city known in Inca tradition as the center of the universe, the navel of their world.  LifePath Unlimited Destiny associates from around the world gathered at the Monasterio, an elite hotel and restaurant built on the foundation of a five hundred year old monastery.

From the comfortable accommodations and delectable fare of the Monasterio Hotel, attendees ventured into the unknown Peruvian landscape on tours to archeological sites known to be sacred to the ancient Incas.  We were guided by shamans or healers from villages high in the Andes mountains whose traditions and ceremonies were shared with participants in an exchange of cultural understanding.

Undoubtedly, the most anticipated tour was the one to the mysterious Machu Picchu.  Werose early to eat breakfast at 4:30 a.m. before boarding buses which would transport us to the  station where the Machu Picchu Train was waiting for us 90 minutes away.  The train ride was nothing less than spectacular as the vistadome cars followed tracks that led along the rugged banks of the Urabamba river through the Amazon jungle and into a little Peruvian town where buses were boarded again for the hair-raising 30-minute trip around hairpin curves up to Machu Picchu.

With eager anticipation, we showed our admission passes, hurried through the entrance and then stood in awe as we came through the doorway that allowed us to view one of the modern wonders of the world, Machu Picchu.  Hours flew as we explored the ruins, photographed the views, listened to tour guides, meditated in quiet nooks.

My LifePath Unlimited Destiny Experience

I’ve been home in the United States just a few days and I’m still mentally processing my LifePath Unlimited Destiny experiences.  Seeing ancient sacred sites, following aged shamans, observing Inca traditions, meeting street vendors, peeking into tiny houses with concrete floors and sleeping mats, acknowledging with gratitude the abundance in my life, witnessing the unmatched accomplishments of pre-Columbian builders, feeling the renewal of personal actualization combine to create not just a sense of awe, but also a determination to be a better person.

Some native Quechua words translated by our guides describe Andean traditions of goodwill, joy, gratitude, and service.  I vowed to remember the word “ayni” which reflects the necessity in our life of caring for all people and nature in return for our daily blessings.  I committed to exhibiting joy in my being by smiling and also by connecting daily with my earthly surroundings, or “Pacha Mama.”  And I have repeated often the term “urpichay,” which means “I am doing my best so you can receive my best to give it to others.”   Culturally, spiritually, emotionally, I am a changed person because of my experience at the LifePath Unlimited Destiny event.
